V-Rooms uses VR power to make project teams more effective while reducing their carbon footprint
The Belgian start-up aims to revolutionize the way project teams meet and co-create before they are physically present on site
Ghent, 30 June 2022 — V-Rooms launches its brand and website to demonstrate the solutions they can bring to the construction sector. Making Onboarding V-Rooms available to the public, will enable contractors and engineering firms to better prepare construction projects and enhance the onboarding experience of new team members. V-Rooms is part of accelerator Start it @KBC, Belgium's largest startup network.
“Kenneth Willems, co-founder of V-Rooms: “V-Rooms aims to become the world’s first immersive project meeting platform tailored for construction teams. In today's hybrid work environment, engineers need the experience of sitting down with other parties and putting project plans on the table. This experience is essential to get the best results. V-Rooms brings this experience back, without requiring project teams to travel. With our first set of products, we want to test a product-market fit for upcoming all-in-one platforms."
Value through sustainability, digitalization & collaboration
Project staff preparing projects often travel around the world to discuss plans in person. This method is costly and time-consuming, causing projects to be delayed. Thanks to V-Rooms the parties involved no longer have to be on site for meetings and workshops, but can meet in VR and view all project documentation in 3D. Moreover, this is easy to organize. Collaborators can opt for the feel of a physical meeting with a VR headset, or simply participate in the 3D space using their computer screen.
According to an annual benchmarking report by the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE, 2017), 63% of the carbon footprint of a structural engineer is related to business travel. Contractors and experts are therefore looking for solutions to reduce their carbon footprint. This can be done by avoiding air travel. These experts are often geographically dispersed or work in a hybrid way. Using V-Rooms, the traffic jams or physical distance that experts normally have to drive are no longer an obstacle to participate in excellent onboardings. This eliminates information gaps within the project team and saves time and costs.
Onboarding V-Rooms Availability
To access V-Rooms, companies can take out a subscription based on the number of VR rooms they need. The V-Rooms team sets up the rooms based on the team’s needs. Users can always return to the space and pick up where they left off in the project.
"V-Rooms is extremely user-friendly. You don't have to download software, buy VR hardware or attend training courses," says Willems. "Because we have a lot of experience managing large infrastructure projects, we know the challenges these teams face. That's why we choose a personal approach and spaces that are easy to use, adapted to the needs of the company or the team."
Onboarding V-Rooms can be ordered at www.v-rooms.net.
About V-Rooms
V-Rooms was founded in January 2022 by Kenneth Willems and Céline Hanauer, owners of consultancy firm Vuentica. It grew out of recent experiences with remote, international teams in the early phases of a military construction project and a maritime infrastructure project during covid. But also the years as very frequent flyer while managing and advising project teams was a source of inspiration.
V-Rooms has the ambition to become the standard VR collaboration platform of the construction industry worldwide. It forms part of the startit@kbc accelerator program and is member of the Belgian PropTech Lab community.
V-Rooms is applying Virtual Reality spaces to empower construction teams to collaborate and cocreate more effectively. V-Rooms isn’t only supplying projects in the preconstruction phase. In the months to come, the main priority of V-Rooms is to attract a complementary co-founder, form partnerships and continue to grow the team for marketing, sales and engineering. New products and services will be launched that cater to a wide range of meeting needs, not only for the early project phases but for the construction and commissioning phase as well.
